What was supposed to be a leisurely Sunday afternoon at the ballpark turned bloody in a way that seemingly only Philadelphia sports fans can make happen.
Eagles running back LeSean McCoy held his second annual softball charity game and plenty of fellow NFL players showed up, as well as enough fans to make a crowd. Most were there to shell out bucks in support of ALS research, but a few will be doling out their hard-earned cash to the Lancaster Police after authorities were called to break up a fight at Clipper Magazine Stadium, where the event was held.
Philly fans have gained a reputation as being some of the most ruthless in the country — hassling both their fellow fans and favorite players. After throwing snowballs at Santa years ago, that infamy continues to this day, and the shots of a severely bloodied fan sporting a Michael Vick jersey definitely isn’t going to help.
