It had been a long string of bad luck for the English at one of golf’s premiere American events, the U.S. Open. In fact, until Justin Rose pulled off the improbable victory, handing Phil Mickelson a sixth second-place finish in the process, no Brit had won the tournament since 1970.
What better way to celebrate finally bursting through than by enjoying a nice, leisurely stroll through New York City — with the trophy in tow?
This would be a great feeling for any champion in any sport, and Rose is no different. Forget the coffee though; if we were lucky enough to run into rose on the street, we’d offer him a pint.
