Thursday was supposed to be a huge day for everyone here at Gamedayr: The football guys were getting their first USA Today Coaches’ Poll of the season, and we here at UniBlog were going to be getting the unveiling of the New Orleans Pelicans uniforms.
Yeah, we were giddy.
The franchise formerly known as the Hornets was starting from scratch: A whole new logo, new color scheme – an entirely new, “New Orleans,” feel.
Well, here they are, the Pelicans’ new home and away looks. We don’t necessarily want to call them “boring,” so perhaps we’ll just go with “slick and simple.”
Both the navy blues and the whites feature gold stripes running down the sides of both the jerseys and the shorts, ending in nice Pelicans logo at the bottom. They feature a “New Orleans” arching across the front of the chest and above the numbers. The gold neckline matches the aforementioned stripes on the side.
Our major critique is the size of “New Orleans” across the front. It seems a tad bit too small for a franchise trying to brand with the city.
What do you think of their new look? Take a look, and sound off in our comments section below!
