Seattle’s star defensive back, Richard Sherman, at first promised to jet ski over to the Seahawks’ rookie camp on Friday.

The dreadlocked, outspoken baller then made good on his promise, zipping around Lake Washington until he could get a good view of what the rookies were doing.

Sherman himself has already been through the rookie ringer. He was interested in what the young gunners were getting up to, but that doesn’t mean he had to be physically invested in what they were doing.

So, why not make a few new friends?

Sherman has rubbed opposing fans and players the wrong way with his chit-chatting, but it is fun-loving actions such as these that can help bring a team together.

Further, the Seahawks are heading into the 2013 season under incredibly heavy expectations to make some real noise in the playoffs. The behavior of a star like Sherman is going to help ease the pressure off second-year quarterback Russell Wilson, newly acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin, the rest of the team and even coach Pete Carroll.

In fact, Carroll was all for Sherman’s Lake Washington adventures.
