It seems like there’s always that one person at every 10-year high school reunion that started far smaller than everyone else, but went on to become big time.
In the case of Michigan football, Tom Brady may be the ultimate example. Not even a full-time starter while suiting up for the Wolverines, Brady entered the NFL as a virtual afterthought.
However, he returned to Ann Arbor on Thursday morning as a three-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer. Needless to say, he was welcomed back with open arms.
The Golden Boy was nearby, with a preseason game scheduled against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. He made the quick trip to campus and gave a speech to Team 134. He then spent a little time with coach Brady Hoke in historic Schembechler Hall.
Perhaps there was a potential recruit or two out there impressed with the program’s big-time alum?
