The Memphis Grizzlies were swept out of the Western Conference Finals by the San Antonio Spurs. Following the end of the Grizzlies’ season, small forward Quincy Pondexter wasted very little time lining up his offseason plans, first doing a little investigation and then getting his mack on — all in a matter of a few tweets.

First, the question that got Twitter all aflutter:

From there, it was game on:

Makes sense, and Chandler Lawson seemed to dig the rationale as well, as she jumped right in on the conversation.

Who would Pondexter be if he let a chance like this slip through his keyboard?

Chris Vernon reacted with about the same shock as the rest of us:

Hopefully, we get some live-tweeting of the dinner — the nation wants to know if it goes well or not.

As for the rest of us, let this be a lesson for all the fellas: There are 49 more states worth of beauty pageant queens out there.

Get tweeting.
