Fans of Washington Redskins superstar Robert Griffin III can now eat an amazing-looking, gut-wrenching (literally) burger in his honor.
Basically, the guys at Metro Grill in Richmond, Va. decided to take as much greatness as they could muster and jam it into one glorious burger. Because our mouths are watering just looking at it, we’ve got to hand this one over to Sarah Kogod of The Washington Post:
Metro Grill, a bar and restaurant in the city’s Fan District, is offering a tower of meat and cheese they’re calling the “RG3 Burger.” The monster on bread consists of three patties made with a blend of wagyu beef and bacon fat, three cheeses (goat cheese, gorgonzola and gouda), three condiments (whole-grain mustard, sriracha mayo and roasted garlic spread), lettuce, tomato and bacon on an onion roll.
But there’s a method to the 14-ounce, $12 madness, explains Grill manager Kevin Mandeville, who also tweeted out the photo you see below:
We were sitting around one afternoon last week and we were thinking about the best way to market something specific to the Redskins facility since they’re in town. It kind of came together pretty easily between myself and my head chef. The roasted garlic is the ‘RG’ and the ‘3’ was the three cheeses.
So, they could have just made a three-cheese, roasted garlic grilled cheese and called it a day, but we’re pretty alright with the fact that Madeville and his chef decided to go with wagyu as well.
