Robert Nkemdiche is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound monster who will make an immediate impact on any football program he chooses. However, it remains to be seen if the even bigger man he met on his most recent visit will have any impact on him.
2013 National Signing Day is literally days away, on Feb. 6. Nkemdiche does not have very much more time to decide between Ole Miss, where his brother Denzel starred as a redshirt freshman linebacker in 2012, and LSU. Florida is still on his list, but it seems to be a long shot at this time.
His mother works in the Nigerian national government. She has been extremely vocal in her desire to only have to make a trip to one campus when she heads stateside.
But that is not stopping LSU, where Nkemdiche squeezed in a last minute visit this weekend, from pulling out absolutely all of the stops in trying to sway the nation’s No. 1-overall recruit from Oxford and down to the Bayou.
And we mean all the stops. While having dinner at Texas De Brazil with star running Jeremy Hill, the young men enjoyed a surprise appearance from the biggest man on campus, none other than Shaquille O’Neal, according to ESPN.
A mother’s love is a mother’s love, but rubbing elbows with the greatest to ever play at LSU and one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball is another thing altogether.
But whether or not the Big Aristotle is enough to bring Nkemdiche to the hallowed hallways of Death Valley remains to be seen.
