During the 110th meeting between Mississippi State and Ole Miss on Thanksgiving, the Rebels decided to switch up the game a bit. Star freshman defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche found himself carrying the rock out of the backfield as a running back.
The following GIF is the 6’5, 294 pound big man picking up a first down – like a freight train on the loose.
Nkemdiche typically wears No. 5, but after halftime he trotted out on the field in a No. 99 jersey. Ole Miss running back I’Tavius Mathers wears No. 5 on offense, limiting the ability of the Rebels to play both at the same time.
Fans promptly took to twitter in reaction to college football’s new two-way star.
Because they want him on offense more. Awesome. RT @CampbellKyle: Robert Nkemdiche is now wearing 99.
