The rumors regarding the futures 0f several college programs and NFL franchises continue to swirl. As the season for each league comes to an end, they will inevitably grow ever-louder.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been the focus of many rumors, including being at the center of a 10 year, $100 million deal with the Cleveland Browns.
According to Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, however, there will be no Saban-sightings in the NFL next season.
NFL.com had the following on Freeman’s report:
Freeman, citing several unnamed team and league sources, reports that “most, if not all” of the teams with coaching vacancies have inquired about Saban’s interest in some unofficial capacity, but have been unequivocally rebuffed.
For now, it seems as if the king on top of the college football world will stay in the comfy confines of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Should his Crimson Tide top Notre Dame, however, Saban will have four BCS Championships (1 LSU, 3 Alabama) to his name and we can only wonder what left he would have to prove in college football, especially if $100 million is put on the table.
