In case Russell Wilson ever wanted to hang up his superstar football cleats for baseball, he’s in luck. On Thursday, the Texas Rangers drafted Wilson in Major League Baseball’s Rule 5 draft.

The Rule 5 draft is held every year in December. The purpose of the draft is to keep franchises from stockpiling young players on their minor league teams, when others would play them in the majors.

Wilson was a two-sport star in college, playing both baseball and football for North Carolina State before transferring to Wisconsin. He also played minor league baseball as a second baseman in 2010 and 2011.

Russell Wilson: dominating life since forever.
