SEC Dominates USA Today’s Pre-Season Top 25 Poll

The SEC is once again making headlines for football. This time the headlines came in the USA Today’s top 25 pre-season poll. The most dominate conference of the past decade has put five teams in the top ten and seven in the top 25.

LSU and Alabama rank at the top, #1 and #2, respectively. The SEC East favorite, Georgia, was voted #6, while South Carolina and Arkansas rounded out the top ten at #9, and #10. Florida and Auburn also made the top 25, at #23 and #25.

The SEC led all conferences with seven total teams in the top 25. The Big 12 was in second with six teams total. At the other end of the spectrum was the Big East, as they once again failed to put one team in the top 25. With the loss of West Virginia to the Big 12, the Big East is not looking good.
