SEC Basketball Makes Sweet 16 Statement To Nation

My how quickly the times change. It wasn’t too long ago that the SEC was being talked about as one of the worst conferences in basketball. Three rounds of the NCAA Tournament later, and the conference has made a sweet statement to the nation.

With Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee all prevailing from the Round of 32, the conference became the first since the Big East in 2003 to go 7-0 or better entering the Sweet 16.

For comparison, the (realigned) Big East failed to place a team in the Sweet 16 for only the third time since the conference was formed.

Only time will tell if the SEC has the Elite 8, Final Four or national title in it, but one thing’s for certain, the conference is proving its worth this tournament.
