SEC Sets Record With 10 Teams In NCAA Baseball Tournament Field

If you were hoping to enjoy summer without all that SEC noise from football season, you’re going to have to wait a little while longer. On Monday the field for this year’s baseball tournament was released, and 10 of the 64 teams are from the SEC, which is the most from one conference in NCAA history.

Florida, LSU, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Arkansas all made the field. The Gators and Tigers each earned national seeds, No. 2 and No. 8, respectively.

The ACC sent the second most teams into this year’s tournament with seven. The Big 12 and Pac-12 each received five berths, and the Big West placed four teams in the field.

Regional play will begin on Friday, May 30th.
