The USC Trojans’ coaching search is officially over. ESPN’s Joe Schad reports that Athletic Director Pat Haden has selected Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian as the Trojans’ new leader.

Sarkisian spent five years at the helm of the Huskies, compiling a 34-29 record and resurrecting the program after a several-year bowl drought.

With the hire, Haden has elected to bring in a young mind, with head coaching experience, who has ties to the program. Sarkisian was on the Trojans’ coaching staff from 2001-03 as the quarterbacks coach, and then from 2005-08. Between 2005-06, he was the quarterbacks coach, and from 2007-08 he held the roles of assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach.
