Tallahassee dealership offers free cars if FSU scores 56 points in BCS

Kia AutoSport of Tallahassee appears to be playing with fire during its BCS National Championship promotion. The dealership has announced that, should Florida State score 56 points on the Auburn Tigers, it will reimburse all customers who purchased cars between Jan. 1-6.

Below are the official rules of the contest, per the dealership’s website:

The FSU Seminoles must score 56 points or more on January 6,2014. If this occurs, Kia AutoSport of Tallahassee will reimburse the customer for the final purchase price. Anyone who purchases a new or used vehicle during the period of January 1, 2014 and January 6, 2014 is eligible. In the event the customer has a trade in, only the amount after trade in will be reimbursed. In the event the customer leases, the total amount of the lease term will be reimbursed. Only eligible at Kia AutoSport of Tallahassee. Offer may not be combined with other offers.

Whoever created this promotion is putting a lot of faith in an Auburn defense that allowed 42 points in its last game. The giveaway is also tempting fate with an FSU offense that averages 53 points per game. Auburn is not afraid to get in a shootout, and since there is no qualifier of a Florida State victory, this almost seems like a seller beware deal.

Wonder if Kia AutoSport of Tallahassee consulted with Jet Chevrolet in Seattle, considering they lost $420,000 on a similar contest earlier in the season.
