Report: Tennessee Titans fire coach Mike Munchak

The Tennessee Titans have fired coach Mike Munchak. The news was first reported by Chris Mortensen.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport, Munchak was terminated due to his refusal to shake up the coaching staff.

Munchak spent three seasons with the team after replacing the long-tenured Jeff Fisher. Under his guidance, the Titans only finished above .500 once, notching a 9-7 record in 2011.

Tennessee now joins Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota and Washington as franchises seeking new leadership. Tampa Bay and Houston also fired their coaches this season, but have already hired replacements in Lovie Smith and Bill O’Brien, respectively.
