A year after sinking to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart in Seattle, it appears that Matt Flynn has done the same thing in Oakland after being brought in to start for the team.
Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Oakland will likely go with former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor to open the season.
While anything but dominant in the preseason, the Raiders front office has to be intrigued with Pryor’s upside compared to Flynn’s. Compare that to the instant success many athletic quarterbacks have had recently and you can understand the reasoning behind Oakland’s decision; they are likely trying to catch lightning in a bottle.
Oakland will face off against Indianapolis and second-year quarterback Andrew Luck to open the season.
