On Monday, the Texas Longhorns officially announced Charlie Strong as the program’s new head coach. That same day the team posted a hype video promoting the hire.
The video serves a dual purpose. One, it will further energize the contingent of fans already excited for their new coach. However, it also works to sell Strong’s hiring to the tepid fans who expected a bigger, more glamorous name, say Nick Saban, for instance.
Texas signed Strong to a five-year contract worth $5 million annually.
