Tickets to Clemson-Georgia Week 1 game will not be cheap

It’s been a long off season. No college games are set to kick off for just under two more months.

That fact is even harder to swallow for the fans of either Georgia or Clemson, as the two teams will be meeting in one of the biggest opening weekend games of the 2013 season. Some fans may, at this point, be willing to shell out any dollar amount simply to be there – and unfortunately ticket prices reflect that.

The good folks over at StubHub have 425 tickets available for the Saturday, Aug. 31 game as of Monday afternoon. However, if you want one, you had better been saving up this offseason. The cheapest available ticket as of writing stand at $254.99. For the price of an iPod you can sit way up in the upper deck.

If you want to sit a little lower to the action, the price once again jumps substantially. To sit in the lower section near the sideline, fans are going to have to fork over a cool $2,000, no joke. Want to sit in the West End Zone club seats? Those are currently going for $1,530.

This is part of a larger trend of increasing ticket prices in spite of the recession.

Luckily, there are plenty of place to watch it on TV without having to give up a semester’s tuition.
