Tim Tebow is back in the game, just on the other side of it now. On Monday we learned that Tebow had joined the SEC Network for its show “SEC Nation.” While it won’t debut until Aug. 28, 2014, fans will get their first taste of “Tim Tebow the analyst” well before then. According to a press release from ESPN, Tebow will join the network’s coverage of the 2014 BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 6.

On Monday, Jan. 6, Tebow will make his first appearance as an ESPN analyst during pregame coverage of the 2013 VIZIO BCS National Championship. He will contribute to the 9 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenterCollege Football Live (3 p.m.) and College GameDay Built by The Home Depot (7 p.m.).

Earlier in the year it was reported that a handful of networks would be chasing the former Heisman Trophy winner. For the SEC Network and ESPN, who couldn’t get enough of Tebow during his playing days, this must feel like a grand slam. They now have one of the most polarizing individuals in American sports on their everyday team.
