During his junior season, Mason thrived in new coach Gus Malzahn’s uptempo offense. He tallied 1,816 yards and 23 touchdowns on the ground, and 163 yards and one touchdown receiving. The season earned Mason a trip to New York for the Heisman ceremony, where he came in sixth in the voting.
Following the announcement, Auburn’s coaches wished their departing star well.
