Longhorns players and coaches react on twitter to what Mack Brown called their “best team win” of the year. Here’s what a few Horns shared with their twitter followers after their 31-22 victory against Texas Tech.

Reggie Wilson @ReggieWilson92 tweeted on Nov.3

“Hello folks great win as a team today and I’m just thankful to be surrounding by a great group of guys. Hook em!”

It took the entire group of guys to hold off Tech in Lubbock, including the special teams unit, who blocked a 23-yeard field goal try with just over five minutes remaining to preserve the Texas lead.

Mack Brown @UT_MackBrown tweeted on Nov.3

“Boarding plane 4 Austin. What a great win! Thanks 2 Texas fans ?@game, U cheered louder & harder til the end. Can’t wait to see orange tower!”

David Ash and Mike Davis provided a couple of huge plays that gave the Texas fans in Lubbock a reason to make some noise. Mike Davis and Ash connected on a 75-yard heave in the second quarter that put the Horns up 21-10 and momentarily silenced the Red Raiders following. Davis later added a 25-yard touchdown for the final score of the game, which amounted to a career-high 165 yards and two touchdowns on just four receptions.

Quandre Diggs @qdiggs6 tweeted on Nov.3

“Great Win today got us to 7-2 we believe in ourselves trust me! ?#Hookem ?#LonghornNation”

At 7-2, 4-2 in Big 12 play, the Horns continue to improve their chances at landing a better bowl bid. While the Horns’ gutsy performance in Lubbock may have shocked some people, the team isn’t surprised by their improved play. “This is more of what we expected to start the season,” Texas coach Mack Brown said. Safety Kenny Vaccaro added, “I knew this was the way we could play since two-a-days.”

Alex Okafor @aokafor80 tweeted on Nov.5

“Monday’s are always easier after a big win”

The 17th ranked Horns are now preparing for the Iowa State Cyclones in search of their fourth straight win heading into a bye week.
