The Auburn Tigers’ depth chart has taken a hit, as two linebackers have been granted their transfer release from coach Gus Malzahn. According to AuburnUndercover.com, Chris Landrum and Harris Gaston have both decided to leave The Plains and will be transferring to Jacksonville State.

Coming off a 3-9 season that resulted in the firing of coach Gene Chizik, Auburn could use all the help it can get. That being said, however, the defections of Landrum and Gaston does not affect the playing roster too badly.

After converting from fullback, Landrum played sparingly on the defensive side of the football in 2012. Gaston has not seen the field since the 2010 season.

Because they are transferring to Jacksonville State at the FCS level, they will not have sit out a season and can play right away this fall.
