Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has been arrested and is facing charges of physical harassment and criminal mischief, according to the Denver Post.
The charges surrounding domestic violence and a mandatory retaining order was issued, according to court records.
Lawson appeared in Arapahoe County court Monday to be arraigned on the charges, according to court documents.
Lawson is free on a $1,000 bond, according to court records.
Neither the organization nor anyone from Lawson’s camp have issued official statements as of writing.
Lawson enjoyed his best year as a pro during the 2012-13 season as a fourth-year guard out of North Carolina. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Lawson posted career highs with averages of 16.7 points per game, 6.9 assists and 1.5 steals in 71 starts.
Those are big numbers for a franchise that has shaken things up this offseason, most notably with the firing of head coach George Karl. Denver needs Lawson ready to go for the 2013-14 season.
