Pat Dooley of The Gainesville Sun reports that Muschamp was surprised by Murphy’s decision.
Tyler Murphy leaving and it totally surprised Muschamp, who was told by QB and his dad he was not.

Earlier in the week a slew of players elected to take their talents elsewhere, most notably former top tight end recruit Kent Taylor.
Murphy filled in for starting quarterback Jeff Driskel following a season-ending injury. He played a total of nine games, throwing for 1,216 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions. Murphy eventually suffered an injury of his own, making way for Skyler Mornhinweg.
According to Jones, his home state school, Connecticut, is a strong possibility, as well as Boston College. Former Florida coordinator Steve Addazio, who is now BC’s head coach, recruited Murphy while at Florida.
