When the final buzzer sounded in Sun Life Stadium, the Florida Gators had dominated the Miami Hurricanes in a number a different areas. Let’s go through a few of the stats:
- Florida piled up 413 totals yards compared to just 212 for the Canes.
- The Gators’ 291 passing yards blew out the Canes’ 163. Florida’s 122 on the ground dominated Miami’s 49.
- Florida finished 6-of-15 on third downs. Miami only converted 1-of-11.
- Florida had 22 first downs compared to Miami’s 10.
After reading all of those numbers, one would assume the No. 12 Gators would have blown out the unranked Hurricanes.
However, there is one more stat that is the most telling: Five.
Florida turned the ball over five times, in the form of two interceptions and three lost fumbles. Here is each and every one of them from Miami’s monumental 21-16 win over rival Florida.
