The Alabama-Auburn rivalry knows no boundaries, whether on the field or off. Apple CEO Tim Cook made that apparent, as he began a lifetime achievement award acceptance speech with a joke in reference to the Iron Bowl.
Cook began his speech by stating that he may need an extra second at the end, because, “we all know how much of a difference that can make.” The quip is at approximately the one-minute mark.
After Steve Jobs stepped down from the position at Apple in 2011, Cook was named the company’s CEO. Cook grew up in a small town outside of Mobile, and received a degree in industrial engineering from Auburn in 1982.
For those that didn’t make it to the end of the speech, but are still wondering: no, Cook did not finish by saying “War Damn Eagle.”
