In 2012, Oregon scored at least 42 points in every regular season game, save for one. The Stanford Cardinal shut the Ducks down, allowing a mere 14 points in handing De’Anthony Thomas and Oregon its only loss of the year.
Stanford not only stonewalled the Ducks’ offense, but the loss also kept Oregon out of the BCS title game.
According to Thomas, however, this Thursday night will have a different result. When asked if there would be a repeat of last year’s debacle, he told GoDucks.com “I don’t think so. I feel like this team, we should at least put up 40.”
Just like that, Stanford has some very solid bulletin board material. We can only wonder how the Cardinal’s vaunted defensive front feels about Thomas’ comment?
