Jackie Robinson etched his place in American history as the first African American baseball player to ever break the color barrier. It’s been 66 years since the historical day when he first stepped foot onto the diamond for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
What you may not have known, until now that is, is that Robinson was a football star as well. This is rare footage of Robinson playing football for the UCLA Bruins against hated intra-city rival USC.
His No. 42 jersey is the only one that has been retired by every Major League team, but he wore the No. 28 with the Bruins, interestingly enough.
