Video: Jarrod Saltalamacchia talks about obstruction call in World Series

Game three of the 2013 World Series ended in unprecedented fashion. The St. Louis Cardinals walked off with a 5-4 win after Allen Craig was awarded home base on an obstruction call.

After it was all over, Boston catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia was asked to provide his take on the final play. No one was closer to the action than he, and he says that he does not understand how the umps could have gone with the call they did.

“At the end of the day, if it was obstruction then, yeah, you’ve got to call it,” Saltalmacchia said. “It’s part of the game, but like I said, looking at the replay, I don’t know the rulebook in and out, but it didn’t look like to me [that] it was obstruction.”
