Wisconsin entered the 2013 season with several questions at two key positions. First, how would Joel Stave respond after being named the Badgers’ starting quarterback the day before UMass was headed to Mad-Town for Week 1?
Second, would he have any other receivers to throw to besides senior star Jared Abbrederis?
Well, we learned quite a bit about Stave on this perfectly thrown, 57-yard strike for a score. Apparently, the man still has the cannon for a right arm that made him so successful before going down with a broken collarbone a year ago.
As for the receivers question, who cares? Just keep feeding Abbrederis – hey, he won’t be open every time, but it sure worked out well here. Did we mention Wisconsin was absolutely taking the Minutemen out to the woodshed in coach Gary Andersen’s first-ever game as the Badgers’ head man? Bert who?
