Video: Johnny Manziel signs an air autograph for Rice

johnny manziel rice autograph

In the gift that has only just started giving, Johnny Football finally made his 2013 debut in the second half of Texas A&M’s closer-than-expected showdown against Rice. He started out well, but definitely jumpy.

He hopped out of the pocket and made a mad dash for a solid gain, but it was the trash talking afterwards that got us freaking out here at Gamedayr.

JFF just doesn’t give an “F.” Is he signing an air autograph for an Owls defender?

Johnny Football…what a self centered, arrogant jerk.

I meant this as a reply to you, but I’m so inexperienced with this method of communication that I didn’t post it correctly.
      Billy Bob,

Johnny was having fun with the Rice players just as they were having fun with
him concerning autograph signing. The whole Rice band showed up with Johnny’s
signature on their shirts and on their drums. The sports announcers didn’t know
what was going on, and as usual with that particular bunch were bad mouthing
him about any and everything. They started that from the beginning of the
      season last year.

Johnny plays football because it’s fun, but he also plays with great passion
trying to have his team score on every snap from center. Something was said by
the Rice safety that he let get under his skin (which he shouldn’t have), and
he let loose with something in return that was so bad that the ref immediately
threw a flag. It was his coach’s
decision to take him out of the game. Coach knows that Johnny is going to be
bombarded with chirping and worse all year and that he MUST not let his
passionate nature explode. This was that well known teachable moment.

He is not self centered about football, although having had so much success at
such an early age could certainly lead to that. His team mates really love him because of the
excitement that he brings to their game and because of his very real desire to
see his team win it all no matter who does the winning.

I hope that you will watch his play in the future judging for yourself and not
forming your opinion because of what certain uninformed sports people have to
say. Last Saturday it was as if they were using an egg timer. “Okay, it’s
time now to say something negative about Johnny Football.”
