Video: Was Jon Lester cheating during Game 1 of World Series?

Was Boston pitcher Jon Lester cheating by rubbing a substance on the inside of his glove during the Red Sox’s Game 1 World Series win over the St. Louis Cardinals?

Lester finished out the 2013 regular with a 15-8 record and 3.75 ERA. The seven-year veteran has been even better during the postseason, boasting a 3-1 record and a 1.67 ERA.

That postseason mark includes a 7.2 inning, eight-strikeout, zero runs allowed gem in Game 1 of the World Series. A performance some people are now questioning.

Looking at the pictures above and below, does it look like there is some sort of green substance that might give his pitches more movement?

Or is it just grass, for example?

Scroll lower and check out the Vine. Does it look like Lester is rubbing the first and second fingers of his left hand on the same spot the substance is on, or not?
