Shoved all the way back into a 4-and-22 situation, North Carolina trotted its field goal unit out onto the field against the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday night. What ensued on the play was not exactly what coach Larry Fedora had drawn up.
Kicker Thomas Moore’s 47-yard attempt was blocked, and recovered by Gus Edwards. The Canes special-teamer then scampered 68 yards for the massive touchdown. The big-time turn of events gave the Canes a 13-7 lead.
