Cincinnati quarterback Munchie Legaux suffered what looks like a horrific left leg injury during the fourth quarter of the Bearcats’ 45-17 blowout loss at the hands of Illinois.
Legaux had taken over for an ineffective Brendon Kay in order to provide a dual-threat spark under center for coach Tommy Tuberville’s squad. The game was still more or less in the balance when two Fighting Illini defenders hit Legaux as he released a pass.
Players immediately signaled for officials and medical staff and looked shaken by what they had seen. Players on both teams took a knee out of respect for the fallen quarterback, and now we pay a little respect as well: Hopefully, Legaux makes a full and swift recovery.
