While most of the nation was either sleeping or closing down the bar on Saturday night, UCLA was busy fighting past an improving Arizona squad, 31-26. Those who did tune in were treated to a treat. Just a true freshman, linebacker Myles Jack laced up his running shoes and joined the offense to boost a depleted running back corps, and he dominated.
Below is a clip of his impressive 66-yard touchdown run on a 3rd-and-2, but that wasn’t the only time Jack stole the offensive show. On six carries, he piled up a whopping 120 yards rushing. With the performance, Jack moved to No. 5 for most rushing yards on the season for the Bruins.
If that wasn’t enough for you, he also finished with eight tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one fumble recovery on defense. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Washington native now sits at third on the team with 63 total tackles.
Jack is already well on his way to earning Freshman All-American status, but could a potential Heisman Trophy bid be in his future in the next few years? With more double-time action like this, we can’t see why not.
