The legendary Nebraska Blackshirt defense was embarrassed a week ago, opening the season with a far-too-narrow 37-34 victory over Wyoming. The Huskers gave up a whopping 602 yards to a team it was supposed to manhandle.
Coach Bo Pelini’s defense was not going to let it happen again in Week 2, however. In a performance that has been almost totally the opposite of last week’s showing, the Huskers have already returned two interceptions for touchdowns against Southern Miss.
First, Stanley Jean-Baptiste brought a pick back 43 yards to the house.
Only 12 minutes later – and still in the first quarter – Ciante Evans rolled 22 yards to paydirt.
