Following the NHL’s second lockout in a minute-and-a-half-long span, the only times most folks are going to talk about hockey are when there’s an insane goal, some sort of record-setting win streak or something negative.
Well, the Chicago Blackhawks, sitting in first place following an NHL record 30-game unbeaten streak, have enjoyed plenty of insane goals and a loss-free streak.
Darn, is it time for something negative?
Yes, yes it is.
Following the Hawks’ 3-1 loss against Vancouver, a female reporter asked Duncan Keith about a controversial no-call that resulted in a goal for the Canucks.
His response was not exactly going to draw any raves from his mother:
“Oh no, I don’t think there was,” Keith replied. “I they, I think he scored a nice goal. That’s what the ref was right there. That’s what the ref saw. We should get you as ref, maybe, hey? First female referee…can’t play probably either, right? But you’re thinking the game like you know it? OK, see ya.”
But don’t take our word for it, listen to Keith tell of the reporter yourself:
Wow. Hey Keith, you realize women’s hockey is an Olympic sport too, right?
