We don’t usually want our waste our readers’ time with punting highlights, but the exploits of Marquette King were simply too impressive not to post.
An unsigned rookie out of Fort Valley State in 2012, King spent all of last year on injured reserve. However, starting punter Shane Lechler signed with Houston, opening up the position for King to show off his crazy-powerful leg.
But first, King took the time to show his skills at an annual camp that also included Thomas Morstead (Saints), Pat McAfee(Colts), Tim Masthay (Packers), TJ Connley (Vikings), according to Kohl’s Professional Kicking.
A hangtime recorded at 5.5 seconds? Oakland might be punting a lot in 2013, so this should be pretty exciting stuff.
