An Ohio Wesleyan women’s basketball player was hit by a police car while crossing the road over Thanksgiving weekend.

According to WCMH in Columbus, the accident happened as officer Mark Jackson was responding to a call for backup at a local bar. While making a left turn, the officer did not see Caroline Welker, and struck the pedestrian with his car.

Jackson paid a $135 fine for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Welker is recovering from her injuries, the most severe of which, according to her father, is a concussion.

Below is a news report on the incident, as well as raw footage of the accident.
