The Denver Broncos spent time before a recent Rockies-Yankees game down on the field and then hopped up into a box prior to the first pitch.

Little did offensive lineman Orlando Franklin know, but Peyton Manning’s stellar and extremely George Washington-esque pose in the box would be a harbinger of things to come.

As it turns out, it was Franklin’s first-ever baseball game, so his teammates volunteered the big man for an in-game interview with the Root Sports telecast.

Franklin never saw it coming — probably because Manning himself hung back, moving his teammates left and right like a game against the Patriots.

Before Franklin had time to react, wide receiver Eric Decker was on him, with what was either shaving cream or a real pie. The material is not what’s important. Instead, what matters is the fact that it was now all over a 330-pound man’s face.
