Sergio Garcia apologizes to Tiger for racist remarks in press conference [Video]


On Wednesday, Sergio Garcia once again found himself with a microphone in front of his face and, for the first time in roughly two weeks, he did not put his feet into his big mouth.

Since Garcia’s spat with Tiger Woods at The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra, Fla., the golfer had been asked about it at every media opportunity. Whereas the mood of the feud had remained more or less comical, Garcia took things about 100 steps too far when he told reporters at a black-tie gala that he would serve “fried chicken” to Tiger during next month’s U.S. Open.

Sergio immediately apologized, but that was not good enough. Thus, at a press conference leading up to this week’s BMW PGA Championship, Garcia again issued what he claims to be a sincere apology:
