Things got a tiny bit awkward on the set of CBS Sports’ pre-game show, “The NFL Today,” prior to Sunday’s Denver-San Diego game.
When discussing player legacies, Shannon Sharpe was adamant that a quarterback who hadn’t won a Super Bowl couldn’t be considered among the greatest of all time. The problem with his statement was that one of the best QBs in NFL history, Dan Marino, shares the set with Sharpe. Despite failing to win a ring, Marino is considered by many to be among the greats.
Almost immediately after making the comment, Sharpe attempted to smooth over his stance on the subject.
