For the past 17 years, Taylor University (Upland, Indiana) has held one of the country’s most unique traditions. On the Friday night before final exams, students pack the basketball arena for what has been termed the “Silent Night” game.
For the Trojans’ first nine points, fans in attendance remain silent, only watching the play on the court. Then, on the 10th point, the arena erupts.
This year, Ben Raichel broke the silence on a three pointer from the left corner with 15:24 left in the first half.
The Trojans would go on to top Indiana-Dabney, 94-72, on Friday.
