News broke on Thursday that the Toronto Raptors mascot, the Chicken, blew out his Achilles and would miss the entire 2013-14 season.
It was a devastating blow for a franchise that needs every reason imaginable to cheer heading into the season.
On Friday, video surfaced of the unfortunate moment. While entertaining what appears to be a school of children, the Chicken performed a back handspring into a back tuck (forgive me gymnasts/cheerleaders if that’s not 100% accurate). Upon landing you can see him clutch for his leg and get up with a slight limp.
Like a boss, though, he walked it off, never even letting the children know what had happened.
