Virginia Tech is producing Hokie perfume and cologne for fans, whatever that may smell like

Most schools sell more merchandise than any fan could ever possibly hope to fit into their homes. From stuffed animals to cookbooks to lawn-chairs to koozies and pretty much everything in between, a fan can show off his or her alliance in pretty much any way imaginable.

Now, for Virginia Tech fans, that includes their scent. Seriously.

Masik Collegiate Fragrances has set up a counter in the Va. Tech bookstore with dozens of bottles, all scented to various Hokies tastes such as “Skipper” and “Hokie Triump.” This is definitely happening, people. Students on the Blacksburg campus for the summer can try out any and all of them and help the company sort through what the eventual scents sold will be.

Expect three perfumes and three colognes to be officially for sale in August, just in time for the Hokies’ Week 1 meeting with defending national champion Alabama. So, basically, even if the score of the game doesn’t look good, at least fans will be smelling great.

As a fan-driven website, we’ve got to say, this sounds like a great idea. After all, who wouldn’t want to smell like a Hokie, right?

If this idea is big-seller, however, we’re a little worried about this branching out to other schools. North Carolina fans might smell like feet (Tar Heels, get it? Get it?) or Texas fans could smell like cows out to pasture.

Tread carefully here, Virginia Tech.
