On Tuesday, the NCAA announced the official name of the new college football playoff system, beginning with the 2014-15 season. It was met with quite a bit of sarcasm due to the lack of creativity, but really, you shouldn’t be surprised.
There are bound to be some critics when you name the new college football playoffs the “College Football Playoffs,” right?
[There were plenty: Fans take to Twitter to voice their displeasure]
Despite the criticism, the NCAA did their best Jay-Z impersonation and brushed the hater-dirt right off their shoulders, because they’re the NCAA.
The name itself is not up for debate, but apparently the powers that be found the potential new logo a bit more difficult to settle upon (basically, it couldn’t be written out in three words on a cocktail napkin, but we digress).
The new College Football Playoff has a new website, collegefootballplayoff.com. On the site you can check out the countdown video and you can also have your say in the game’s new logo. We know what you’re thinking, and you’re right: It would have been far more sweet to have voting rights on the game itself, but yet again, we digress.
Check out the four options below, and underneath, vote and let us know which oe is your favorite!
For our purposes, vote from left to right: The American flag with the football on the far left is (A), for example. The simple football with gold, arching outlines is (B), etc. etc. — let’s do this.
And if you were happening to wonder what the logo would look like if a Captain Planet was pulled and all four were combined, well, Cuppy Cup has you covered.
