Warren Moon is the latest high-profile athlete to be defrauded. The Hall of Fame quarterback lost $200,000 in a fake ticket and ownership deal revolving around the Miami Heat.

Moon was approached by a Los Angeles con-man, George French Jones, who cut the fictional deal. In return for his $200,000, Moon was promised floor seats to Heat games, and a down payment on 5% ownership in the team. After his agency wired the money to Jones’ account, the con-man disappeared.

The FBI has now gotten involved in the hunt for Jones, who also targeted several other athletes, including Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson.

Below is the report from FOX 11 Los Angeles.
