JJ Watt, the Houston Texans’ superstar defensive end, took batting practice with the hometown Astros prior to the baseball team’s home opener against the Texas Rangers.
The dude is an all-pro in every sense of the word, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a 6-foot-6, 295-pound monster to dominate your sport of choice.
Standing in a full foot shorter than him is another Houston stud and All-Star in Astros second baseman Jose Altuve.
That’s right boys and girls, you don’t have to be an abnormally large human being to make an impact in the sports world — but you should probably make sure you pick the right sport.
For example, Watt absolutely dwarfs Altuve here, but Altuve has a body type that makes him a great second baseman. Could he collect dozens of sacks as an NFL defensive lineman? Probably not.
However, could Watt go down on the block and try to back down Shaquille O’Neal while starring for the Houston Rockets?
Again, probably not, but Yao Ming did. Ming and Watt took a photo together themselves, and Watt looks like he should be playing second base for the Houston Astros.
Yao Ming, JJ Watt and Jose Altuve.
Three Houston All-Stars, three incredibly different sizes.
